The Covid-19 pandemic took the world by storm, altering many aspects of everyday life. Resilience & Innovation is in our DNA

As an in-person entertainment paint and sip franchise business, Painting with a Twist, like many other businesses, experienced our fair share of challenges early on in the pandemic. However, as a franchise concept born out of a disaster (Hurricane Katrina), we had it in our blood to overcome the adversity and bring new opportunities to life for both our guests and franchise partners.

In one month’s time, Painting with a Twist pivoted and began offering our first ever retail product and first ever virtual experience. Our Twist at Home Paint Kits along with recorded video tutorials were a quick hit with our guests who were desperately looking for the escape they’ve come to love from our Twist experience. Virtual events became the norm for a few months as we navigated through the pandemic uncertainties. But we were able to innovate and fill two needs. We were able to give our guests the mental/emotional break they needed, and we built a brand new revenue stream for our franchisees, who otherwise would have been doomed to fail with zero revenue coming in from events during strict lockdowns across the country.

While as a paint and sip brand we were thrilled with the results we were seeing with our new offerings, we fully expected the demand for those offerings to wane as the pandemic slowed. But to our surprise, these offerings are still key components and revenue drivers for our franchise locations! While our in-studio events have seen a tremendous comeback with our guests itching to get back into the studio for the socialization they missed, there’s still so much desire for our new offerings, which we have and will continue to expand upon in this post-Covid world.

Franchisee Support a Top Priority

Part of joining a franchise is getting the support you need when you need it! Our home office team made sure to provide an unparalleled level of support for our franchisees throughout the pandemic. After all, they are our Twist family! We hosted daily Coronavirus update video meetings where we shared latest government info and restrictions, funding options, marketing ideas, new product innovations and more. It was all hands on deck and we, together with our franchisees, were able to overcome the challenges we faced.
